Hello and welcome to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's EMS Administration and Medical Disaster Management Professional Certificate Program.  Our program is set to start its 4th cohort in January 2014 and we want you to be a part of it.  This program is a series of professional development modules intended to improve your knowledge and abilities while functioning as an Emergency Services, EMS, or Disaster professional.  The program's focus addresses the complex processes associated with today's professional EMS and Emergency Services programs.  The program is cohort based and each program consists of 7 modules, 4 modules on campus in Chapel Hill and 3 modules that are independent study, small group, or online based.  We are looking for those individuals that have leadership experience in their respective organizations and have been through Continuing Education or Curriculum Academic Programs such as the EMS Management Institute at UNC Charlotte.

Module Topics include:  Module 1 Leadership and Management, Module 2 Public Speaking and Peer Reviewed Research, Module 3 Operations and Finance, Module 4 Continuity of Operations and CMS Health Care Reform, Module 5 Planning and Preparedness, Module 6 Planning a Regional Exercise, Module 7 Disasters and Logistics.  Faculty will include instructors from UNC as well as visiting instructors and adjunct faculty that are expertly qualified in their given areas of instruction.  A significant amount of the education in the program will come from you, the Emergency Services and Disaster Professionals, through networking, sharing experiences and the use of classroom interaction.

The program will draw from those who currently work in Emergency Services providing emergency medical services and medical disaster management and from others in Public Safety Organizations who may provide EMS or medical disaster services, such as fire departments, hospitals and other related agencies.

Tuition for our program is $1100 for in-state participants and $1400 for out of state participants.  Payment is expected before the first session unless other payment terms have been agreed upon.  You can get more information and complete applications by visiting us online at www.emsadmmdm.org.
