Learn-Not-to-Burn - Pre-School
The Learn-Not-to-Burn® Pre-School Program is a practical pilot-tested and evaluated program to teach fire safety awareness and skills to children aged 3-5 in a child care center.
Its objective is to help pre-schoolers identify key fire safety behaviors:
- Stay away from hot things that can hurt
- Tell a grown-up when you find matches or lighters
- Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch on fire
- Cool a burn
- Crawl low under smoke
- Know the sound of a smoke alarm
- Practice an Escape Plan
- Recognize the fire fighter as a Helper
The program uses songs and play activities to emphasize specific fire safety knowledge and actions.
