Medical Students
There are several Surgery rotations offered to third and fourth year medical students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as to visiting fourth year medical students. All rotations are arranged and approved through the School of Medicine's Office of Student Affairs. Prospective StudentsStudents interested in applying to the University of North Carolina School of Medicine are directed to the UNC MD Program site. Current UNC StudentsThird-year medical students at the University of North Carolina may visit the Surgery Clerkship Website to obtain detailed information about the eight-week clerkship. Non-UNC Medical StudentsInterested in a visiting rotation at UNC during your fourth year of medical school? Our elective periods are four weeks in duration, although occasionally we accept visiting students for two electives (up to eight weeks). Applications are due at least two months prior to the starting date of the elective you wish to take - please refer to the 4th Year Clinical Curriculum (.pdf) Schedule. Details, including applications and a listing of Surgery's Fourth Year courses, are available at the School of Medicine's site for Visiting Students.
