NCFHP and CAMPOS

CAMPOS has partnered with NCFHP to further healthcare at the farmworker camps and give CAMPOS students a chance to care for the Latino community.

"The North Carolina Farmworker Health Program (NCFHP) is a statewide Migrant Health Voucher Program within the Office of Rural Health and Community Care, NC DHHS. As opposed to a free-standing health center, NCFHP works with local agencies to provide care throughout the state to meet the needs of smaller densities of farmworkers. NCFHP responds to gaps in health care that would otherwise prevent farmworkers from accessing needed care."
During the program CAMPOS students will have opportunities to go to the farmworker camps.  There are also lunchtime talks addressing Latino cultural issues as well as health issues.  Please see link for Powerpoint presentation titled Pesticide Exposure given by Dr. Narges Farahi January 25th 2012.
