May 2013 - Second-year graduate students Leigh Ann Samsa and Lin Xiao have each been awarded a travel grant provided to the McAllister Heart Institute by the Sabin Family Foundation. Leigh Ann recently joined the lab of Dr. Jiandong Liu and Lin is mentored by Dr. Drew Dudley. Both are students in the cell and molecular physiology graduate program.

Eva Anton is new Associate Director of the Neuroscience Center

April 2013 - Professor Eva Anton will take on a new role as Associate Director of the Neuroscience Center. He will spearhead a number of new initiatives soon including a review of facilities and space allocation and contributing to UNC's response to the Brain Initiative.

Adam Gracz awarded Dissertation Completion Fellowship

April 2013 - Fourth-year graduate student Adam Gracz has been awarded at Dissertation Completion Fellowship from the UNC Graduate School for the 2013-2014 academic year. The fellowship supports doctoral students in the final year of their dissertations, providing a stipend, tuition and fees, and health insurance.

Adam is a student in the cell and molecular physiology graduate program and is mentored by Dr. Scott Magness.
