Areas of Interest

My training is in stem cell biology and translational medicine. This area of research focuses on the application of basic science discoveries to the clinical setting with the goal of improving patient outcomes. As an educator, I use this background to relate cellular and physiologic processes to disease states and highlight the molecular mechanisms behind treatment options. I aim to enhance student success by implementing proven instructional strategies and by integrating new technologies into the classroom. I am also interested in assessing the effectiveness of innovative teaching materials and approaches.
