Imaging Core

STORZ endoscopy has recently developed an endoscope that may be used to perform colonoscopy with biopsy in mice and rats . With this system it is possible to visualize colonic cancers and/ or colonic inflammation. Additionally, it is possible to obtain colonic biopsies e.g. for histology using a flexible biopsy forceps with a diameter of 3 Fr.

STORZ

Application

If you plan a project including mouse endoscopy, please submit an application first (short abstract about the background and aims of the project in the context of the planned endoscopy). An internal board of the CGIBD including the core director will review this abstract. If the project appears feasible for performing endoscopy, it will be necessary to obtain approval from the IACUC either by amending an existing animal protocol or by writing a new application.
