Markowitz, M.D., M.S.University of South Carolina, to present at CGIBD Research Seminar May 30, 2013 Jonathan E. Markowitz, M.D., M.S., to present “Eosinophilic Esophagitis: Concepts and Misconceptions” at Thursday, May 30, 2013 CGIBD Research Seminar.   Dr. Markowitz is director of pediatric gastroenterology at Greenville Children’s Hospital in Greenville, SC, and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.  His interest in eosinophilic esophagitis dates back to his training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, when he worked with Chris Liacouras, one of the first physicians to recognize and study the disorder.  Dr. Markowitz oversees a sizable multidisciplinary center for the diagnosis and treatment of children with eosinophilic esophagitis, has published and lectured extensively on the topic, and is the co-editor of the textbook, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, published in 2012. The semiar is held in the 1st floor auditorium of the Bioinformatics Building at 4:30 pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.
