General Auditing Services
The School of Medicine Compliance Office strives to audit all actively billing providers at least annually. Charges are randomly suspended and audited to ensure the medical record documentation supports the level of visit originally billed. Charges found to be in error are adjusted to reflect the audit findings and then posted to the patient accounting system. The Compliance Office meets with the administrative and clinical leadership of each unit audited to review the audit findings and make reccommendations to bolster future compliance. To date, the Compliance Office has completed 12 rounds of audits. The 13th round will begin early 2008.
