Dr. Medha Bhagwat of the National Institutes of Health Library will guide participants through using the genome browsers from NCBI, UCSC and Ensembl. Used to view the assembly of the complete human genome, these browsers are valuable tools for identifying and localizing genes, and obtaining information about them. This course will cover how to view different human genome maps/tracks and make best use of them. For example, the EST map can be used to identify undocumented exons or to generate the alternative splice products of genes. .
