Donald J Woodyard

Joey Woodyard is a graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill. He has worked in authentic assessment in medical and pharmacy education since 2001. Formerly working in Business Development at Cogent Neuroscience, INC, Mr. Woodyard has held his current position since opening the skills center in January 2006. Mr. Woodyard chairs both the Clinical Skills and Assessment Workgroups and the CPX Faculty Committee for the School of Medicine. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) and is the Chairman of the ASPE Membership until Janaury 2010. Mr. Woodyard is a certified UNC/Duke HAVEN Ally, making his office in MacNider a Safe HAVEN for any UNC or Duke victim of domestic abuse or sexual assault (pager number listed above). Mr. Woodyard is also currently a graduate student in Entrepreneurial Studies at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. He volunteers his spare time in the community as a Guardian ad Litem, an advocate in court for children facing cases of neglect and abuse. He is also the owner and chief instructor of a Tae Kwon Do studio in Charlotte, NC.

Jim is a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, North Carolina with a degree in Biology. He came on board with the Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center in January of 2007 after 29 plus years in EMS. He has over 20 years of in hospital experience as a Flight Paramedic at UNC Air Care to complement his pre-hospital experience. At UNC Air Care, he served for nine years as Lead Flight Paramedic and chaired the Safety, Equipment, and Personnel Committees. Among various certifications, he is an instructor in ACLS, ITLS, and PALS.  He brings knowledge, teaching, hands-on experience and commitment to this growing technology.

Erica Clarkson is a graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill with a BA in Sociology.  She has worked with the Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center since September of 2006 in her position as Standardized Patient Program Coordinator.  Erica also serves on the Membership Committee of the Association of Standardized Patient Educators.

Matt Turner is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He began work with the CSPSC part-time as a Standardized Patient and Head Proctor for CPX.  He came on full time in August of 2006 as Technical Analyst for the CSPSC and OED, and now manages the B-Line Medical Testing System as the Testing Systems Coordinator.  Matt can be contacted for assistance with accessing the B-Line system and any needed classroom support in the center.

Dawn is a graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill with a degree in Biology.  She began here in July of 2007 as the Clinical Skills Managing Intern.  She also volunteers as a Guardian ad Litem for Orange and Chatham counties, where she is the advocate in court for abused and/or neglected children.  Her future career path is to become a nurse.

Katie is a 2008 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill. She obtained a bachelor of science in Public Health in the Department of Health Policy and Administration. Katie began working for the Clinical Skills Center as a Standardized Patient. She is now the Patient Safety Research Intern and is currently doing research on two educational projects; Capstone and Health Affairs Interdisciplinary Case Conference (HAICC).

 

Adam Drechsler

Adam is a senior undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill.  He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an additional focus in Chemistry and Medical Anthropology.  Adam has worked at the CSPSC as an Assistant to the Technical Analyst since June of 2007.  He is also the Simulation Intern and currently working on a project to develop a simulated sickle cell patient.  Occasionally, Adam also performs a role as a standardized patient actor.  In addition to his work at Burnett-Womack, Adam volunteers weekly at the Orthopedic Radiology ward at the Ambulatory Care Center.

 

Cameron Mumme

Cameron is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the School of Public Health.  His major is Health Policy and Administration with a minor in African-American Studies.  Cameron's work focuses on Internal Medicine research, examination development, and our Patient Safety Initiatives.

 

Kristin Hartley

Kristin Hartley is a rising senior at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Kristin is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Health Policy and Administration in the School of Public Health. She is also a minor in Business Entrepreneurship. Kristin is working at the CSPSC to increase quality assurance practices and improve standardized patient training.
