Research interests: Surgical treatment of the aorta, transcatheter valvular surgery, hybrid coronary revascularization and valvulvar surgery.

Bronchoscopy, interventional bronchoscopy, treatment planning for stereotactic radiosurgery (Cyberknife) for lung cancer. Dr. Egan no longer performs surgery due to a physical disability, but provides 2nd opinions/consultation on lung transplantation, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, airway diseases and problems. Research: ischemia-reperfusion injury, lung transplantation, lung transplant from non-heart-beating donors, ex-vivo lung perfusion/ventilation.
