Family Planning Fellowship

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has a fully accredited residency training program. Our comprehensive training program produces talented physicians who are prepared to be specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, and to achieve certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Department offers resident rotations in obstetrics, oncology, urogynecology/reconstructive pelvic surgery, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology and fertility. The Department follows the Education Objectives outlined by the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our goal is to educate rather than train resident physicians and to emphasize continuity care, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Each of the divisions of our department has specific goals for the residents in each of their four years. The department is unique for having fellowships in all Board-approved subspecialties, a two year fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Pelvic Pain, and an NIH funded T-32 fellowship in epidemiology and clinical trials.
