Continuity of Care
After the patient has been approved and evaluated by the CCCDP staff, necessary devices are ordered. For hearing aid patients, these devices are shipped directly to the referring audiologist or other appropriate professionals for disbursement to the patient. The referring audiologist will follow the patient and provide continuity of care.
Cochlear implantation surgery is performed by the physician staff of the Division of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the UNC Department of Otolaryngology. Audiological and speech evaluations, cochlear implant programming and physician follow-up are exclusively provided by the CCCDP staff.
