Movies, traveling, scuba diving, skiing, and spending time with my wife and son.
Why I chose UNC:
This is a great, well-established program that keeps getting better! The faculty is friendly, supportive, and great educators. Plus, the research program is top-notch. I don't think anywhere else has such a strong combination of people and resources.
Hobbies/Interests:
Reading, jewelry-making/crafting, watching HGTV, and cheering on the Notre Dame football team.
Why I chose UNC:
I felt immediately welcomed by all members of the UNC Emergency Medicine department when I rotated here as a M4. I was drawn to these down-to-earth, fun, smart group of people. The mild winters didn't hurt either!
Hobbies/Interests:
Sailing, surfing, scuba diving, cycling, and animals.
Why I chose UNC: No other place felt like home, and it has great food! I know I will also have an amazing education while working with fun, smart, and talented people.
Hobbies/Interests:
Mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, rock climbing, brewing beer, watching movies, spending time with my wife and dog.
Why I chose UNC: It's a great program with a great reputation in an awesome area. I'm from North Carolina and I'm thrilled to be back in my home state near family and friends.

Hobbies/Interests:
Playing with my dogs, Zumba, the beach, photography, Tar Heel basketball.
Why I chose UNC:
I did my undergraduate studies at UNC (as did most of my family) and I've been a Tar Heel/Chapel Hill-ian at heart. When I did a month rotation in the ED at UNC, I fell in love even more. The residents, nurses, attending, staff, and patients were all amazing! It's a beautiful area with an outstanding program. I'm lucky to be a part of it!
Hobbies/Interests:
Reading, outdoors/hiking and camping, Texas aggie football (WHOOP!), movies, music, and outdoor theater.
Why I chose UNC: The people here seemed so happy and I loved everyone I met. Plus, North Carolina is beautiful. Green scenery is a nice change after growing up in Texas. I knew I would get excellent training here in an environment I loved with people whose company I enjoyed.
Hobbies/Interests: Running, biking, and outdoor activities, movies, and music.
Why I chose UNC:
When I interviewed here, everyone I met was very friendly. The program offers a mix of both academic and community based practice. I look forward to the weather (actually having seasons, unlike Texas) and exploring all this area has to offer.
