Dr. Jane Brice has been selected as a 2009 recipient of the Medical Student Research Advisor Award by the Academy of Educators of the UNC School of Medicine.  This is a great honor and recognition of her dedication to teaching our medical students and residents the importance of translational research.

Among the comments that were received in her nomination letters were the following:

"Dr. Brice has mentored numerous medical and graduate students, residents and fellows in research as well as developed a unique program that provided preclinical medical students with a structured research experience."

"The track record of this program is extraordinary.  Of the 50 medical students that Dr. Brice has mentored over the past decade, 22 of them have received research awards or grants for their work.  Many have now completed their clinical training, joined academic faculties and are pursuing clinical research."

Congratulations!
