The goal of the Department of Otolaryngology is to provide a state-of-the-art educational experience for our residents through their involvement in clinical practice, didactic teaching, and the performance of clinical and basic science research. This will be accomplished in a friendly, noncompetitive atmosphere that will stimulate all residents to become committed to excellence in an academic or community practice.
In the pursuit of this mission, we will maintain a stimulating and fulfilling environment of education. Residents are provided with formal evaluations on a biannual basis in meetings with the Program Director, as well as written evaluation summaries on a quarterly basis (at the end of each rotation block). Should any grievances arise, the departmental Education Office, the institution’s Graduate Medical Education Office and the House Staff Advisory Council work to resolve them.
