Description:

The purpose of this research study is to determine if a particular gene may put some smokers at more risk for developing COPD and Chronic Bronchitis.  We are interested in a few genes that appear to be related to these lung diseases.  Approximately 300 people will complete this study.

Requirements:
  • You must be between 40 and 70
  • You must have a history of smoking at least a pack of cigarettes a day for 10 years
  • You should not have asthma or lung disease from causes other than smoking
Time Commitment:

1 to 1½ hours

Compensation:
Volunteers will be compensated $25.00
