Description:

The purpose of this research study is
to determine if a
particular gene may put some smokers at more risk for developing COPD
and
Chronic Bronchitis. We are interested in
a few genes that appear to be related to these lung diseases. Approximately 300 people will complete this
study.

| Requirements: |
- You must be between 40 and 70
- You must have a history of smoking at least a pack of
cigarettes a day for 10 years
- You should not have asthma or
lung disease from causes other than smoking
