Assistance with Meaningful Use Authorization Process - Your chance to win an iPad!

Practice Quality & Innovation staff will offer two on-site opportunities to help providers complete MU authorization.

We recently outlined here the process required for eligible professionals (EPs) to authorize Practice Quality & Innovation (PQI) to act on their behalf for Meaningful Use (MU) registration and attestation. Detailed instructions on how to complete the authorization process are available here.

As of July 19, 26 percent of UNC’s EPs have successfully completed this process.  Next week, PQI will offer two opportunities to assist the EPs that have not had a chance to do so. Authorization takes only 5-10 minutes and is required in order for UNC EPs to receive MU incentives.

The PQI staff will be available at the locations and times listed below:

•ACC, 2nd Floor Lobby – Thursday, July 28, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

•Cancer Hospital Lobby (Outside Starbucks) – Friday, July 29th, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

After completing the Authorization process, EPs are automatically entered into a drawing for an iPad 2. Congratulations to the recipient of the first iPad 2 giveaway:  Dr. Leonard Parker in the Department of Radiology.  Two more iPad giveaways will take place over the next few weeks.  To be eligible for both drawings, EPs must complete the Authorization process by next Friday, 7/29/11. (EPs who have already completed the process have been entered in all three iPad 2 giveaways.)

To request PQI staff to hold an Authorization Session at your clinic, Grand Rounds, or faculty meeting, please contact meaningfuluse@unch.unc.edu.
