Assistant Director Bio

McClester

Mallory McClester Brown, MD  began her role as Assistant Residency Director in the spring of 2016. However, residency leadership is not new to her, as she previously served as the final third year co-chief and the first fourth year chief resident in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. She enjoys teaching residents, medical students, and staff both in the classroom setting and in the clinical arena.

Dr. McClester Brown is originally from a small town in Northeast Ohio. She attended John Carroll University for her undergraduate training and went on to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to complete her medical degree. Her desire to be a well rounded clinician with training in full scope family medicine led her to the University of North Carolina for her residency training. Prior to joining faculty, she completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at UNC.  Dr. McClester Brown joined the department in 2014 and completed the part-time Faculty Development Fellowship in 2016.  She served as the Co-Director of the Family Medicine Inpatient Service prior to joining Dr. Page as Assistant Residency Director in the Spring of 2016.

Dr. McClester Brown enjoys the opportunity to mentor and learn with residents as they move through their residency careers. Her clinical practice includes care of a full spectrum of patients, with a special interest in caring for older adults. She sees patients at the Family Medicine Center, a local continuing care retirement community, and in the inpatient setting.
