UNC Family Medicine Alumni & Friends Weekend is April 13-14th

This year's Alumni & Friends Weekend is April 13th-14th. The theme is "Innovation in Chronic Disease Prevention and Management," and our former chair Warren Newton, MD, MPH will be speaking. Come join current faculty and past residents and fellows in a wonderful weekend.

 Join us and fellow alumni April 13th and 14th, 2018 for the UNC Family Medicine Alumni & Friends Weekend! This year’s theme is “Innovation in Chronic Disease Prevention & Management,” and will feature the Second John T. Henley Lecture given by Warren Newton, MD, MPH. The weekend is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with classmates and faculty, make new friends and learn from amazing educators on many topics from the latest clinical innovation to a discussion of challenges and opportunities in treatment and prevention of chronic illness.

Just some of the activities you can look forward to include:

  • The Second Annual John T. Henley Lecture: Leadership and Professionalism: What do they mean for Family Physicians in April, 2018? by Warren Newton, MD, MPH, President and CEO Elect, American Board of Family Medicine; Director of NC AHEC.
  • Breakfast with physician writers Nicole Swiner, MD, Peter Curtis, MD, and Peter Rizzolo, MD
  • Special rapid-fire “Open Mic” session of alumni presentations moderated by Sam Weir, MD (email Reid_Johnson@med.unc.edu if you are interested in presenting)
  • Special Reception and Dinner for alumni and faculty and guests
  • 8 hours of CME
