UNC Family Medicine and UNC Pediatrics Sponsor Joint Lectureship, Children or Tobacco: Who is Winning?On May 23 & 24, UNC Family Medicine and UNC Pediatrics will host the Julius B. Richmond Lectureship. The lecture will feature two presentations by Jonathan Klein, MD MPH, Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University of Rochester and Associate Executive Director of the American Association of Pediatrics. Dr. Klein will present his topic, Children or Tobacco 2012: Who is Winning? Tobacco use continues to threaten the health of our children. How do we approach tobacco prevention and treatment with pediatric patients and their families? Dr. Klein leads a national program of research, education and advocacy efforts to engage pediatricians in helping eliminate children's exposure to tobacco. Dr. Klein's other research is on the organization and effectiveness of adolescent health services and health promotion and disease prevention for children and adolescents.
