Biographical Information

Martha Carlough is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine with an adjunct appointment in the Maternal and Child Health Department of the UNC School of Public Health. Dr. Carlough founded the Office of Global Health Education at UNC and has more than 20 years’ experience in global health and development work, including nine years in residence in Nepal where she worked both working in clinical medicine and as MCH advisor to the Ministry of Health Safe Motherhood Program. She now is consultant faculty in the Theology, Medicine and Culture Initiative of Duke Divinity School and staff physician at Samarian Health Center.

Full-scope outpatient family practice; maternal child health; international health.
