Ben Hooker, MD, MPH is a board certified general pediatrician having attended UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and completed both an intern year in Family Medicine and residency in Pediatrics at ECU/Brody SOM in Greenville, NC in 2009. He completed his MPH through the HCAP program while in medical school. During his seven years in practice, he has cared for many refugee and immigrant patients and children with special health care needs (CSHCN). He is primarily interested in care and advocacy for relocated refugee and immigrant families and children, improving transition to adult care for CSHCN, and improving primary care delivery to special populations like refugees, immigrants, CSHCN, and LGBT youth
