Healthy Heels Weight Loss Program

The UNC Weight Management Program offers a comprehensive group-based weight loss program for UNC Healthcare employees. The Healthy Heels Weight Loss Program (HHWLP) is free and includes intensive coaching and support.

What does the program include?

Weekly group sessions with a counselor and your peers covering a variety of topics related to diet, physical activity, strategies for weight loss, stress management, etc. Groups occur on Wednesdays from 4-5pm at Eastowne and Thursdays from 1-2pm at UNC Hospitals. You can stay in the program for 6 to 12 months, depending on your progress & interest. There is also a second level graduate group that meets biweekly.

Is this the right program for me?

You must have a BMI >25, be motivated to change your eating habits and level of physical activity, and be willing to contact your counselor at least twice per month.
