Southeastern Area Health Education Center (Wilmington, NC)
The five-county region of the SEAHEC area supports industry, lowland agriculture and offers a beautiful seacoast. The practice sites are primarily in out-lying counties, rather than in the city, and all offer exposure to the full range of Family Medicine with the exception of Maternal Child Care which is done only at Coastal Family Medicine Center. One student per block will be assigned to Coastal Family Medicine, which is the site of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Residency in Family Medicine. Dayback seminars are held at Coastal Family Medicine Center and taught by the faculty of the Family Medicine Residency Program. A car is required for this site.
