As part of the ongoing growth and expansion of the Department of Genetics, three different search committees are actively recruiting well-qualified candidates for new open rank tenure track faculty positions.

The first search is focused on candidates with training in statistical genetics, computational biology or data science and will be a primary appointment in Genetics. The second search is being conducted jointly with the Department of Biostatistics and is focused on candidates with broad research and teaching interests who are interested in joining a vibrant group of statistical geneticists at UNC. The third search is focused on recruiting a Professor and Chair of the Department of Genetics, with qualified candidates possessing a distinguished and creative record of research accomplishments, administrative skills and a commitment to education and diversity.

Current Department of Genetics faculty members, postdocs and graduate students are encouraged to actively participate in the search process by attending seminars, providing feedback to the search teams, and serving on interview panels as requested.
