Styblo and KollerMirek Styblo (PhD, Professor, Department of Nutrition) and Bev Koller (PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Genetics) are Co-PIs on a new R01 titled “Humanized mouse models for arsenic toxicology” from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).

The goal of this project is to develop, validate, and characterize a novel mouse model that recapitulates metabolism of inorganic arsenic in humans in order to study arsenic toxicity and arsenic-associated diseases. The R01 project includes Co-Investigators Fei Zou (PhD, Professor, Department of Biostatistics, Department of Genetics) at UNC and Richard Auchus (PhD, Professor) at the University of Michigan.
