The University Ombuds Office is a safe place where all Carolina staff, faculty, students and administrators are welcome to come and talk in confidence about any campus issue, problem, or dispute. Come and share your concerns, evaluate your situation, and plan your next step—if you want to take a next step. Use of our services is voluntary and free and visitors will find our office a safe place to discuss their concerns, no matter how large or small.

UNC Hillel, located at 210 W Cameron Ave, is the place for the Jewish Tar Heels to gather, spend holidays together, and explore their Judaism. We offer a multitude of events throughout the school year from weekly Shabbats to game night watch parties. Come in and say hi!

Allies for Minorities and Women in Science and Engineering (AM_WISE)

Allies for Minorities and Women in Science and Engineering (AM_WISE) strives to better the working environment for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in UNC STEM departments. AM_WISE will always take action on behalf of the STEM scientists within the graduate school to 1) advocate for their protection as researchers for the school and 2) empower them as a community to speak up for themselves and to lift up the voices of their peers 3) prepare them to embody this mission in future careers as they become formidable leaders in a world of diversifying science and scientists.

SACNAS is a national society of scientists dedicated to fostering the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join the UNC Chapter to learn about STEM careers, professional development opportunities, participate in lunch and learn discussions, and get involved with community outreach.

The Carolina Recovery Program aims to encourage a community that supports continued recovery, academic excellence, and a commitment to serving the greater UNC community by providing each student a customized success plan, staff and peer support, and proactive recovery focused programming. Alli is a licensed social worker and provides one-on-one counseling to PhD students at the School of Medicine. To schedule an appointment with Alli, click here. Alli also monitors the wellness of biomedical PhD students and leads Wellness Programming for BBSP students.
