About

Sarah McGill is a general gastroenterologist and endoscopist who is passionate about excellent patient care. She has written, spoken and published on a national level about advanced techniques in colonoscopy to prevent colorectal cancer and the use of fecal microbiota transplant to treat C. Difficile infection. She has ongoing research in these areas and has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Lineberger Cancer Institute.

In 2021, Dr. McGill published the first description of GI-isolated alpha gal allergy in the gastrointestinal literature, and she is involved in ongoing research efforts to learn more about patients who are affected by this allergy.
