Areas of Interest

Dr. Keku’s research interests involve translational studies on the molecular epidemiology of GI cancers, particularly colorectal cancer. She is interested in understanding the role of genetic, diet and lifestyle factors in colorectal cancer susceptibility; identification of novel biomarkers for early detection to define risk groups for prevention or response to treatment as well as cancer health disparities. Current studies are defining the role of the gut microbiota and metabolome in colorectal cancer.
