Millie D. Long, MD, MPH

Research Interests 

Dr. Millie D. Long joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center of Excellence in July 2010.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from UNC, followed by medical school at University of Virginia, internal medicine residency and chief residency at University of Alabama and a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at UNC.  She also completed a preventive medicine fellowship and a masters of public health in epidemiology during her time at UNC.  Her research interests include the prevention of complications of therapies used in the treatment of IBD.  She has been awarded a career development award from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America to support her research. She also has an interest in medical education.  She currently teaches in the Clinical Epidemiology course for second year medical students at UNC.
