UNC Liver Center Research Staff

In addition to the clinicians who serve as principal investigators and co-investigators on all of our research studies, the staff of the UNC Liver Program includes several specialized individuals dedicated to coordination of the various research projects.

Renee Blanchard

Erick Borg is a Drug Development and Clinical Research Fellow with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Erick received his doctorate of pharmacy from Drake University in May 2010. Erick is currently working on the Synch silymarin study as well as two, investigator-initiated trials with Dr. Fried.

Tracy Russell is a Social/Clinical Research Professional with over 10 years experience in clinical research. She has worked on over 25 clinical trials. She began her career in clinical research as a Clinical Research Assistant and lab technician and contributed to several periodontal clinical trials. In 2005, she began working as Clinical Research Coordinator and completed Certificate I and II as Clinical Trials Research Associate. She is currently an accredited Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is working on several ongoing clinical trials, including "A Multicenter, Longitudinal Study of Drug and CAM-Induced Liver Injury" (both prospective and retrospective arms of the study) and "A2ALL: Adult-To-Adult Living Donor Liver Transplant Cohort Study" along with its retrospective study component.
