Dr. Buckner received a two-year award (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2015) to support clinical and research training in bleeding and clotting disorders.

The National Hemophilia Foundation – Baxter Clinical Fellowship Program provides up to $200,000 over two years to foster the academic careers of young physicians working with bleeding and clotting disorders. The program, which is funded by Baxter Healthcare Corporation, has given support to 24 physicians since its inception in 2003; selections are made by an independent review panel.

Dr. Buckner will be mentored during the award period by Dr. Nigel Key, Director of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at UNC.
