Requirements/Grading

IAC is required for graduation.

Students must take and pass each section in order to complete IAC.

BLS Session:

To successfully pass this section, each student must actively participate and demonstrate basic life support for the adult, child, and infant patients.  A score of 84% or higher must be attained on the written test administered at the end of the session. The written test is 25 questions. Student will have an opportunity to remediate if needed.  A second failure will necessitate repeating this session.

Airway / Pediatric Session:

Attendance and class participation are the benchmarks used to grade the Airway/Pediatric Section.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS):

Grade for this session is based on the ACLS written exam and practical exam.  The practical exam utilizes the AHA practical checklist for that scenario.  A passing grade on the written exam is 84% or higher. The written test is 50 questions.  Students will have an opportunity to remediate if needed.  A second failure will necessitate repeating this session.
