The FDA will be holding a meeting on May 11, 2015 in Silver Springs, MD and is extending an invitation to all patients, care providers, and the general public to discuss patient’s views on currently available treatments for functional GI disorders, impacts on daily life, and discussing questions brought up by patients. They will be discussing drug development for irritable bowel syndrome, gastroparesis, chronic persistent symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux despite standard therapeutic interventions, and chronic idiopathic constipation.

This meeting is directly before one of the largest gastrointestinal conferences in the United States, Digestive Disease Week (DDW). DDW is a conference where physicians and researchers in the fields of GI surgery, gastroenterology, endoscopy, and hepatology gather to discuss the new research developments, publications, examine new pharmaceuticals and devices, and many other novel and interesting discoveries within the field of gastroenterology.
