Precepting Schedules (Same Day Care, Resident Clinic, & Substitute) January-June '12

Contains schedules, distribution list information, and details regarding preceptor trades and substitutions.

Preceptor Trades

If a physician is unavailable to precept during time(s) assigned, s/he is responsible arranging coverage through a trade.

The med_IMC Preceptors distribution list in the Outlook global list has been created to facilitate trades.

In arranging trades, the substitute preceptor should be used only as a last resort.
The person needing the trade should check initially with the 3-5 doctors who may be available.
The substitute should not feel compelled to trade to accommodate vacation plans, but may consider coverage for unanticipated professional activities.
Once a trade has been arranged, notify Jo Williams who will update the schedule.

Substitute Preceptor

Substitute preceptors must remain available to fill in at the last minute for sick preceptors in either Same Day Care or Residents' Clinic. Please avoid when arranging trades.

Any changes to this schedule should be given to Jo Williams
