Research Interests

1. Modeling immuno-pathology and immuno-therapeutics of chronic HBV/HCV/HIV infection
2. Human hematopoietic (blood) and liver stem/cancer biology
3. Development of immuno-therapeutics to treating persistent virus infection and to cancers

Research Summary

We study development and function of the human immune system; immuno-pathogenesis and immuno-therapy of HIV-1/HCV/HBV infection in humanized mouse models and human patients.  We focus on human DC, macrophages and T cells in immune modulation and their dysregulation during persistent virus infection.  In addition, we investigate human blood/liver stem cell and cancer biology.  We will also develop novel approaches (therapeutic antibody and vaccine) to treating persistent virus infection.
