Research Interests

I have broad experience measuring replication competent HIV in patient samples. I have a strong and extensive publication track record on persistent HIV research, including the first study to show that HIV latency can be disrupt in vivo. I have lead several HIV patient translational studies in my laboratory focusing on using novel molecules to target the HIV-1 promoter of resting CD4+ T-cells isolated from HIV-infected patients. Through my research, I continue to seek to define mechanisms involved in HIV latency with the hope of curing HIV disease.
