The HIV Vaccine Trials Unit (HVTU) at the University of North Carolina is one of many research sites around the world that together comprise the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). The HVTN is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is dedicated to the development of a safe and effective HIV vaccine.
The Vaccine Trials Unit (VTU) at UNC is committed to:
- Increasing community awareness about why an HIV vaccine is the world's best hope to stop AIDS
- Conducting safe and ethical research that values the commitment made by our study volunteers
Our VTU provides the HIV negative community with an opportunity to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS. You can help. Join our fight against HIV by volunteering today! (Open studies for HIV negative subjects)
