HIV Care in 2010: Trends in Clinical Care and Caring for Vulnerable Populations
Event # 29689

What Can I Expect?

The purpose of this symposium is to provide health care providers with an update on the care and treatment of HIV infected patients who are now living longer lives. Specifically, topics included will address: aging and inflammation, family planning and HIV therapeutics including drug interactions and regimen selection, including recent recommendations for when to start a regimen. There will be a separate and second track for case managers, nurses, psychologists and substance abuse counselors who care for 2 or more HIV-infected patients developed to address issues in caring for the at risk and vulnerable populations that may be difficult to engage and keep engaged in their care. Finally, this track will include a session on testing in nontraditional settings. This session will also be useful for clinicians, case managers, pharmacists and nurses.

If you are new to the management of HIV, you may wish to view HIV 101 before the symposium.
Go to www.aheconnect.com/hiv to view Dr. Tim Lane's HIV 101 presentation.
