We are currently searching for excellent candidates for the following positions:
Center Director Metairie,
The Center Director must be able to handle all personnel issues to include attendance and work performance; manage quality and procedural compliance; handle customer service issues while ensuring adherence to all measures of quality service guidelines and standard operational procedures. Management experience in a donor center, bio-tech/life sciences or medical setting strongly preferred.
THE CENTER DIRECTOR WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in science or management related field preferred or three to five years experience as a Center Director in the plasma proteins industry.
- Strong employee supervision/management experience.
- Ensures the total operation is in compliance with facility Donor Center Operating Manual (DCOP), State and Federal (FDA) Rules and Regulations, OSHA requirements, and CLIA requirements.
- Develop strong internal working relationships to assist in achieve operational goals and foster teamwork.
- Ability to strategize internally with operational management to balance short-term and tactical needs.
- Extensive and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Directs and supervises donor center employees to maintain quality assurance procedures.
- Ability to develop staff to ensure a competent, compliant and quality team.
- Excellent analytical and decision making skills
- Demonstrated initiative and self motivation.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- Effective PC and Microsoft Office skills required.
- Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings and weekends based on business need.

- Brand management

Your Profile:

Post-doctoral position opening in Hematology
A post-doctoral position is available at the Unité INSERM 311 Laboratory in Strasbourg (France) to study the mechanisms of megakaryocyte differentiation in two mouse models of rare inherited disorders affecting platelet production (Bernard-Soulier syndrome ATVB 2007, 27:241-7 and May-Hegglin related diseases Blood 2007, 110:3183-91) and correction of the diseases by lent viral gene therapy.
The laboratory is located in the regional Blood Center (www.efs-alsace.fr) and offers an excellent research environment including in house confocal and electron microscopy facilities, approved P2 laboratory and animal facility.
This position requires a Ph.D. with molecular and cellular biology knowledge in hematology, and microscopic skills. Experience with aspects of hematopoietic stem cells and gene expression control systems (viral-based transduction, siRNA, mouse genetic manipulation, inducible systems) is preferred.
Funding is available for three years (French national program on rare diseases ‘ANR maladies rares’), with extension after one year based upon satisfactory performance.

Both posts will involve a variety of research disciplines including haemostasis biology, bioengineering and drug formulation. Techniques will encompass HPLC, particle characterisation methods, flow cytometry, perfusion and blood assays, and microscopy.
Previous experience in such areas, especially microscopy, would be an advantage but not essential; more important is enthusiasm for laboratory science, good communication skills and a willingness to learn. Candidates for the post-doctoral position should hold a PhD in a relevant subject. For the technician’s post, candidates with either a minimum of three years’ laboratory experience or a relevant degree will be considered.

Research Scientist/Staff Scientist/Principle Research Scientist in Hemostasis Research
The incumbent will join a dynamic team in Molecular Pharmacology/Hematology. The incumbent will initiate scientifically credible and creative research project for developing novel therapeutics for bleeding disorders. As the Principal Scientist you will:
- co-lead projects composed of cross function team members,
- contribute expert advice on the biology aspects of the project,
- organize efforts in implementing the research activities,
- provide and oversee the pharmacology support in diseased animal models.
The incumbent will have the opportunity to develop the state-of-the-art quantitative in vivo imaging for studying the molecular mechanism of action for potential therapeutics, or the research on the immunogenicity of biologicals and novel strategies to induce immune tolerance.
The incumbent will establish working relationships with experts in the field to gain insights into novel technologies and discoveries, will manage internal and external collaborations and contracts in support of new research and product development, will provide expert scientific opinion to business development in evaluating potential in-licensing opportunities.
Must have Ph.D. or M.D. with 3 - 8 years of proven experience. Must demonstrate strong track record in hematology research with the emphasis on hemostasis and thrombosis. Working experience in Pharmacology, in vivo imaging and quantification, or immunology is highly advantageous. Must be able to lead and mentor experienced and talented technical personnel, bring excellent scientific and strategic skills to bear on projects. Must demonstrate the capacity for critical thinking and strong analytical skills to evaluate complex information for the identification of key scientific findings related to objectives. A comprehensive knowledge of the field is also essential to be able to identify the critical issues that determine if a candidate drug is suitable for advancement into development or the clinic. Must be able to work productively in a changing environment. Executes his/her responsibilities with persistence, resilience and creativity seeking to work both independently and collaboratively.
