2023 Keynote Speaker

Dr. Brian J. Miller, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., is a hospitalist at Johns Hopkins Hospital and serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Business (courtesy) at Johns Hopkins University. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital and a Public Health Residency at Johns Hopkins University, and has previously contributed to the FDA, where he completed safety reviews of valbenazine, a breakthrough drug indicated for tardive dyskinesia. Dr. Miller has also worked on competition policy with the FTC, including the successful blockade of the $7 billion Advocate – NorthShore merger. Dr. Miller’s research focuses on the intersection of healthcare and the state, including healthcare competition policy, health insurance program design, and the regulation of novel drugs and devices, with the goal of promoting public health and cost-effective clinical practice.
