El Camino Hacia El Éxito, or simply Éxito!, is a mentorship program spanning from middle school to physician dedicated to increasing the number of Latino health care providers.

Éxito for Medical Students
The program consists of an internal network of MS1-MS4 dedicated to helping each not just succeed in medical school but excel. A shared gathering of studying resources ranging from USMLE Step study materials to "that smart kid in the class" is at the disposal of LMSA members. Weekly study sessions as well as individual study partners are available. Adding to the benefits of LMSA is the creation of a family like structure in which an MS1, 2, 3, and 4 are joined together for social support as well as advice about that 'next step.' To further support our students, LMSA has enlisted the participation of residents and physicians dedicated to provide social support, career advice, and leadership development opportunity to medical students.
Éxito for Undergraduates
Undergraduates are afforded the opportunity to work along side medical students to create a network of resources that will ease their journey into the medical profession. Participants will be afforded the opportunity to shadow Latino physicians and gain invaluable information pertaining to overcoming obstacles relevant to the Latino journey into the medical profession. Other opportunities include an annual Cadaver Tour where undergraduate begin to learn empathy for patients, learn the value of dissection lab, and even experience the lab itself! There will be MCAT prep workshops, personal statement seminars, advice on the application process, financial aid work, and leadership opportunities. Don't miss out on this opportunity. The undergraduate mentors will help high school students traverse the unique obstacles Latino youth in NC face when attempting to gain entrance into higher education. Social support is also crucial to the success of Éxito for High School Students.
