APPLICATIONS
Prospective graduate students interested in reproductive biology can elect
to study with LRB faculty members in the departments of
Biochemistry and
Biophysics,
Cell
and Developmental Biology,
Cell and Molecular
Physiology or
Genetics. Students may first contact the LRB faculty member in their
specialty of interest. Applications are submitted to the Director of
Graduate Studies in the department of the LRB faculty member as well as to
the UNC
Graduate School. Alternatively, students may select an LRB mentor after
starting their graduate program.
Post-doctoral applicants may send their resumes directly to the Director of
the LRB, Dr. Frank S. French or to one of the LRB faculty members.
Students and Post-docs may choose to conduct part of their research in the
laboratory of an adjunct faculty member or International Collaborator.
RESEARCH SUPPORT / ENVIRONMENT
Several LRB faculty are members of the
Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) which provides specialized
research support/resources at the
LCCC Core Facilities.
The UNC Medical School also provides many
Core Facilities used by LRB
members and students. An
Affymetrix Gene Array
Core is hosted by the Neuroscience Center. The
Center for Bioinformatics offers Core facilities as well as consultation and
computer support for state-of-the-art genomic and proteomic studies.
The Laboratories for Reproductive Biology exists in a rich environment for
collaboration in basic and clinical research at the University of North
Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill and in other institutions of the
Research Triangle area of North Carolina. The Triangle
Consortium for Reproductive Biology (TCRB) has over 200 members. The
annual TCRB meeting offers scientific presentations and discussions often
leading to opportunities to establish collaborative studies.
