Timelines and Migration Status

The Email Consolidation and Migration component is well underway. OIS began with inter-office pilot groups in the early Fall of 2009.  By the end of 2009, we had already begun working with departments to migrate their users' mail. Our goal is to have everyone in the School of Medicine migrated by March 2011 but we can only accomplish that goal with your help.  We will focus on those departments who are eager to migrate first and then work with the remaining departments (and other organizations) throughout the year.

If your department or organization has technical staff, we welcome their participation in this migration (see "Help with your group's migration" for more information).  With almost 8000 School of Medicine users to migrate within a year... we need all the help we can get!  We have thoroughly documented migration procedures for technicians and are happy to meet with your technicians to chat about the best approach for your department or organization.  Although having your own technicians is certainly not required, they will ultimately help speed up your group's migration.
