UNC SOM is very proud of its Advisory College program! Each incoming student will be paired with an advisor to whom you can go to for school, career, and life advice throughout your time in Chapel Hill. Two advisors and their advisees all make up a "college" of which there are 6! Think of this college as your home base - you'll meet for lunch a few times each semester to discuss how things have been going, how to prepare for future blocks and events, etc. Your college is also an avenue for voicing your opinions on how things are running, and it can serve as a link between you and the administration when change is needed. The BEST part about the college system? Your ADVOCATES! Each college has two MS2 Advocates, with one Chief Advocate overseeing them all. Advocates are your go-to people when you have questions about anything regarding school. They are here to give advice about the blocks you'll be in during the year, as well as helping you to adjust in a new environment. Seriously - ask them anything and they will respond.
Now you may not know your advisors just yet - but you will know them come orientation. In the meantime, here's a brief overview of your advocates! They are so excited to meet you all!
