OneNote Tutorial Handout

  1. Open OneNote 2010
    1. Click Start
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Microsoft Office Folder
    4. Click Microsoft OneNote2010
  2. In OneNote Select File
  3. Click New
    1. Select My Computer
    2. Give the Notebook a name (1st Time name it: Molecules to Cells)
    3. Click Create Notebook
  4. Right click on “New Section” Tab
    1. Click Rename
    2. Rename it to organize files

                                                    i.     Suggestions: Names, (e.g. “Week 1”), Dates (e.g. “Aug 1-7”), Topic, etc.

  1. Minimize OneNote 2010
  2. Open an web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
  3. Navigate to UNC’s Sakai Site (http://sakai.unc.edu)
  4. Click on Onyen Login
  5. From the Tabs at the top, Select the Molecules to Cells MEDI140.MTC.FA12 (it might be listed under the “more” dropdown menu)
  6. On left Navigation click on Calendar
  7. Locate the first Syllabus and PowerPoint file
  8. Click on the PowerPoint file and open with PowerPoint
  9. When the PowerPoint opens, click on the yellow “Enable Editing” button on top bar of screen.
  10. In PowerPoint, Click File.
    1. Click Print on the sidebar
    2. From drop down menu click “Send to OneNote”
    3. Click Print button
  11. Click OK.
  12. Title the PowerPoint in the blank at the top of the page.
  13. Minimize PowerPoint, Click on Sakai Calendar again.
  14. Click on the Syllabus.
  15. On pop-up, Open with Microsoft Word, click OK.
  16. In Microsoft Word, Click File.
    1. Click Print on the sidebar
    2. From drop down menu click “Send to OneNote”
    3. Click Print button
  17. Click OK.
  18. Title the Syllabus in the blank at the top of the page.

Repeat for all other PowerPoint/Syllabus files.
