General Information about the UNC Department of Dermatology 4th Year Medical Student Rotation

The Fourth Year Medical Student rotation at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is four weeks in duration.  The rotation is one week of inpatient consultations and 3 weeks outpatient clinics.

Orientation is scheduled the first day of each rotation at UNC at 8:00 a.m. in 3100 Thurston-Bowles Building.

In addition to clinical requirements, students are required to attend conferences.  Grades are based on faculty and resident evaluations, end of rotation test, and performance during consult week.

Requirements

Students must also mail the following four items to the Department of Dermatology.  (see address below).

1.      Medical School Transcript for all coursework during years 1 and 2 (or Basic Sciences) and year 3

                   2.       USMLE or equivalent Part One Board Scores

3.       Letter stating which rotation dates are requested in preferred order.  (See rotation dates below.)  Include in this letter a statement saying whether or not you are interested in being considered for UNC’s Dermatology Residency Program.

                    4.      Current Curriculum Vitae

Once these items are received, they are reviewed by Drs.
