What's New This Academic Year? (Information for Students)
Lecture Capture Update
Download version now available; you can now use speed controls when viewing captures
In addition to the streaming lecture capture version that was available last year, this year there will be an additional download option, giving you the option to download a lecture to play on your laptop or compatible iPod. Offering a downloadable version of the captures also enables you to use speed controls when viewing the captures (depending on the player you use).
Audience Response
Respond to questions via a web site
We've updated the Audience Response System (ARS) software. The major piece that affects students is the way you respond to ARS questions. Instead of using the VPAD application to respond, you'll simply go to a web site (http://www.rwpoll.com), enter the session id (at the bottom of the PowerPoint slide) and respond to the question. We highly suggest that you bookmark the rwpoll web site.
Berryhill Wireless
This year wireless internet will be available on the 4th and 5th floors of Berryhill labs.
OIS Help Desk: New locations
Having problems with your laptop? The OIS Help Desk has moved to 063 MacNider Hall. An additional location has opened on the ground floor of Bioinformatics.
Student Org Web Sites
Transitioning sites to the web system
Need help with your student organization web site? Many of the student organizations have already transitioned to the School of Medicine web system. The web system offers an easy way to manage your site - all you need is a web browser! If you are interested, your first step will be to sign up for the introduction class (School of Medicine Web System: Introduction - offered twice a month; see the School of Medicine calendar for the next available class).
